Signing Up for Hostgator Hosting

The process is pretty straight forward, just follow your nose and fill in the forms. You can use the Hostgator page below or go directly to www.hostgator.mirrorz.com. Use the guide (see right) to help explain the steps.

Use the 'Web Hosting' option if you wish to compare hosting plans and review the facilities available. Most users will find the middle option, 'Baby', plenty adequate. Although the 'Hatchling' option is cheaper, this is only really the case for longer term sign-ups. Note, all the monthly prices advertised on the "front" pages are for longer term deals. For month to month sign-ups, presently the 'Baby' plan is $US9.95 per month.

Free First Month - Hostgator gives a free first month with coupons just use "freemonth" (without the quotes) where the sign up asks for 'Coupon'.

Use any "Order Now" button in the column headed by the plan you select. The prices quoted are for longer term sign-ups. We usually find the "Baby" plan is the best fit, but if you only want to host one site then the "Hatchling" will do the job. Multiple sites on one account require a "Baby" minimum. You can always upgrade later if your needs change.

Step 3
If you are transfering from another host, you will have an existing domain (URL, site address). If you don't have a domain you can use the facility above or take advantage of the low prices at www.GoDaddy.com

Step 4
This shows your order so far and allows you to check details. Ignore the option about nameservers.
